"The startup ecosystem of Madan Parque and value creation"
Abstract: “The concept of Science Park goes back to the mid-50s and particularly to the strategic considerations undertaken at North Carolina (USA), with fundamental contributions from academia and the support of state governor. This newly approach to link University with private business did have its burdens and drawbacks, until the financial partners were engaged and there was a clearer view as regard to the preferred institutional set-up.
Europe has followed too this trend, albeit a few years later. Sophie Antipolis was one of the first strong names to emerge (that was in 1970), being the project consolidated over a decade. Year 1984 witnessed the incorporation of IASP (International Association of Science Parks), due to the formal recognition of the fundamental role these organisations play in terms of social and economic development.
The European policies started to reflect these changing paradigms as well, leading the way to the implementation of political instruments designed specifically for the support of such endeavours.
The fundamentals of a Science Park were transformed throughout time, being reshaped, and adapted in accordance with the changes taking place everywhere in society. New models were generated throughout the years such as the concept of the triple helix organisations, which is one of the most well-known to surface during the 90s.
More recently the lexicon has been extended, and likewise the active actors are more numerous. The inner liaisons and connections between peers are a key for the success, demanding symbiotic relations and a more complex structure. This need paved the way to the adoption of the biology concept of ecosystem.

This short storytelling shall provide you with insights about Madan Parque and its strategy, whenever it comes to value creation based on the promotion and further development of an entrepreneurial culture within the region of its direct influence.”
