The Department of Chemistry of University of Bari (Italy) is posting one fully funded ER (Experienced Researcher) research contract over 16 months in the framework of“OrgBIO – Organic Bioelectronics” - Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) -  FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN  - PITN-GA-2013-607896. The official call for applications is given in attachment.

 

How to participate to the competition

fill the Annex A you find in the call documents, otherwise the application will

be discarded;

attach a copy of the PhD degree certificate or alternatively a certificate attesting to at least 4 years research full time activity in the field of the contract accordingly to the competition requirements,

attach a signed copy of your CV accordingly to the competition requirements;

attach a signed copy of a valid Identification Document (passport), otherwise the application will be discarded;

Reference letters with full contact of a responsible person to be contacted if needed (optional but highly recommended);

application has to contain also copies of all the other titles the applicant wants to be valid for the competition, as well as documented research experience, scientific publications and all others qualifications related to the contract.

the application should be addressed to the Director of the Department of Chemistry and should indicate the position title. It must be sent by e-mail within a single PDF file named "applicant surname.PDF" at the following e-mail address: direttore.chimica@pec.uniba.it.

the application package HAS to be delivered at the above mentioned address within 26th October 2015 12:00  Bari local time. It is important that all the application documents REACH the above mentioned address within the competition deadline. ANY APPLICATION SENT BEFORE DEADLINE BUT THAT WILL NOT REACH THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT WITHIN THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED VALID.

Study

PhD degree in Physics/Chemistry/Material Science or similar degree or at least 4 years of documented research experience in these disciplines and in particular in the filed of the development of sensors and biosensors

Competition requirements:

To be in physical conditions for carrying-out the collaboration, the Department of Chemistry has the right to submit the winner of the selection for a  medical examination, in accordance with current legislation;

Hold a PhD degree in Physics/Chemistry/Material Science or similar degree or at least 4 years of documented research experience in these disciplines and in particular in the filed of the development of sensors and biosensors;

Not have more than 5 years of documented research experience included the period of the PhD school at date of the submission of the application;

Not have resided or have carried out research activity in Italy for more than twelve months in the three years.

 

The requirements shall be met at the deadline for submission of application.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

The application with unfilled mandatory fields of ANNEX A  will be discarded

The application must be signed by the competitor under penalty of exclusion from the selective procedure.

The application, under penalty of exclusion, should be written in English

 

Evaluation

The evaluation will be made from the Examination Board by assigning up to a maximum of 50 points on the basis of the following criteria:

 

For the PhD degree thesis: up to a maximum of 40 points;

For documented research experience in the field of research activity of the contract: up to a maximum of 5 points;

For scientific publications in the field of research activity of the contract: up to a maximum of 3 points;

Further qualifications related to the field of research activity of the contract: up to a mximum of 2 points.

 

To pass the competition the candidate must return a score of at least 35/50.
