Paula is a senior researcher with a Ph.D. in Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa since 2015. Paula received her Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Lisboa in 2009. She is currently working on the development of multifunctional magnetic devices for cancer theranostics. Her main research interests are related to developing multifunctional magnetic nanostructures for application in cancer theranostic, mainly in magnetic hyperthermia, controlled drug delivery, and magnetic resonance imaging. During the last years, she has supervised undergraduate, MSc, and Ph.D. students and published several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. She is also the principal researcher of project DREaMM funded through Portuguese national funds by Fundação para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia.
